Health Aid Program

Health professionals – including doctors, nurses and medical students – can join the Health Aid Program and contribute to the improvement in the health of the nation of India. Doctors and nurses can gain valuable experience in their clinical expertise and learn new professional skills in a developing country, while medical students will have the opportunity to gain practical experience. Volunteer Aid India currently has opportunities for volunteers to assist at health centers, hospitals, remote health posts and mobile clinics.

The Health Aid Program (HAP) is one of the programs run by Volunteer Aid India, which aims to provide volunteer opportunities to health professionals, medical students and public health students. The Program includes medical practice in health centers under the guidance of a health supervisor.

The ratio of doctors to the population is lower than the WHO standard. So, the contribution of volunteers can make a big difference in communities of India.
