Who is a Volunteer ?

Any individual who is sympathetic and kind enough to work for the benefit of the people around us without expecting any material reward is rightly called a volunteer. Every person has been a volunteer once in a while in his/her daily life. You certainly are a volunteer when you help some old women cross the busy road or when you try to save a drowning person. Now, when you participate in the our program, you are going to do the same with a wider purview and with a more meaningful purpose.

Can I come with a friend, my family or in a group?

Yes, at IAVE India you are welcome to join with a friend, family or in a group. We offer special discounted fee for family and group bookings. You can join the programs along with your children as well.

Do I need to qualify for Volunteer Programs?

Volunteer Aid India keep right to looks your resume for your skills, working experiences, travel experiences, your academic qualification, your age and preferences but we think willingness to help others is the mainly important for Volunteering.

When can I start volunteering?

We are flexible on volunteering start date. However, you should inform organization about your estimated arrival date before you book flight ticket.

Can I travel during my volunteering period ?

Depending on program type and volunteering duration, You can travel during/before/after your volunteering period. IAVE India will also facilitate you to travel local places in India.

What do I do in the free time?

You can utilize your free time as your interest. There are many options in the India to utilize your free time during volunteering.

What is the weather like in India?

The width of India is only about 200 km on average, but within this short distance the altitude of the land rises from lowly 60m to all the way up to above 8000m. Hence the weather depends upon the altitude of the place in India. However, in general India has four climatic seasons: Summer, Monsoon, Autumn and Winter. Summer is from March to May. The temperature of this season fluctuates between 20 °C to 30 °C (68 °F to 86°F). Monsoon lasts from June to August. These are also the pre-monsoon months with occasional evening-thunderstorms and hot temperature. Autumn starts from September and ends by November. During this period, the climate is dry and mild with temperature fluctuating between 20 °C to 30 °C (68 °F to 86 °F). Winter starts from December to February. The morning and evening are very cold while the afternoon is pretty sunny. The temperature during these months rises from 15 °C to 20 °C (59 °F to 68 °F).

Does an IAVE India staff person stay in the village with me during my placement?

IAVE India staff member will not be in your placement village for a long period . However, each Districts has a local ‘ District Representative’ to assist the volunteer with any issues that may arise in the village. IAVE India also mobilize National Volunteers to Assist foreign Volunteers. Members from Our partner organization will also help you during your stay in local area.

Is India safe to volunteer?

India is very safe place to travel and volunteer. According to Global Peace Index, India is more peaceful country then China and India. Additionally, we have no any issues related to safety of our volunteers since 2008.
